Castell D’Aro Old Town
In the Old Town of Castell D’Aro, visitors can find the Benedormiens Castle -built in 1041- and the Santa Maria Church, now in Gothic style. The castle was the most important of the Aro Valley. From the tower, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Aro Valley. Its streets and houses of medieval design, invite you to delight in the conservation and restoration of architectural, historical and cultural heritage.
The Casco was declared a Cultural Asset of National Interest because of its antiquity: its buildings date from the sixteenth to the eighteenth centuries. Today, it is a sample of the Middle Ages, expressed both in its architecture and in its exhibitions, art galleries and cultural activities.
